Tovas Porvas was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, and began playing music at just 6 years old. She sang and performed in many festivals in Baku, often placing among the top three young performers. Tovas is a poet for more than a decade, the duo has been united in their mutual love for music. Today she aims to keep their Yarsan Ahle Hagh cultural traditions alive and thriving through the arts.
In 2012 she started her professional vocal lessons with Cavit Murtezaoglu and learned about middle eastern Magams and Radif she also learned to how to compose from him as an apprenticeship. In 2016 she created her first music group Tora’dan with her husband Jan Porvas. She composed all the songs . The definition of Tora’dan is the whispers coming from the depths of the well.

Recently one of her songs has been performed in the Ankara Turkey Symphonic orchestra with one of the famous singers and artist Feryal Oney.
Jan porvas was born in the Yarsan (Ahle Haqq) family in 1984
in the city of Tabriz in Iran. Then he started his art and Batiniyya career
Jan, who started music with nagara at the age of 6, continued his career with the keyboard because of his intense interest in electronic sounds. Due to the pressure on art in Iran , music education and studies were continued at home in the form of a master-apprentice relationship. As enlightening of music genius Jan started to learn the classical music of Azerbaijan. When he was 10 years old, he had already made his first composition.
Since the age of 17, by playing the keyboard in different music groups he continued his art career professionally.
After meeting with the master artist Cavit Murtezaoğlu, who is the husband of his older sister, Jan started to learn the philosophy of music and continued his career due the interest in the music of the Batiniyya and mysticism.
Having a stage ban in Iran due to his belief and work with Cavit Murtezaoğlu, Jan came to master artist Cavit Murtezaoğlu, who had to leave his country due to the pressure on art in Iran and the prohibitions brought to him, and started his master-apprentice education in Istanbul. Accordingly, he decided to learn the musical instruments, Tambur and Daf(Erbane), which have a very important place in the belief of the Yarsan.
During his being in Istanbul, he had more than 50 students and many of them who started music with Jan, still continue.
He has worked as an editor and artist and arranger in the albums of Cavit Murtezaoglu and Virtuosos, Tebrizden Torosa, Bayrek Kushchuoglu and Rezbar.
In 2019 he published his album with the name of Yar Kapisi(Gate way to the beloved).
